QATAR DELIVERS A DOUBLE ACT: ROTHNZ TAKES SPRINT, BOX-FOR-INTERS RULES THE FEATURE

Qatar weekend belonged to two very different McLaren-and-Mercedes stories, with RothNz taking his first sprint victory of the season before Box-for-inters answered with a commanding feature-race win. Rollie followed RothNz home in the sprint, while Tbran completed the podium for Williams; in the feature, RothNz finished second and Rankupwithme completed the podium after another late charge on Rollie...



The sprint was effectively decided at Turn 2. Rollie made contact with the rear of pole-sitter Box-for-inters, sending the Mercedes into a spin and creating a pile-up of cars trying to avoid the aftermath. RothNz emerged untouched from the mess triggered by his teammate (what a coinchidence), inherited the lead and never looked back. Rollie recovered brilliantly to second, while Tbran, wildcarding for Energetic, secured third. TrenchGhost came through fourth, with Korka6_cz fifth. Box-for-inters recovered to sixth despite the opening-lap drama and a heavy penalty, while Bards, Rankup, Elche and DeejaayPandaa rounded out the next positions. Gordini’s return to A1881 action, standing in for Crunchypancake, produced 11th in the sprint, while Sir Ibbo, Scaparro, Yeshurrun, ToxxicElijah and Fox also made it to the flag. Mrbenchod was the only sprint DNF.

The feature race was a very different story for Box-for-inters. Starting from pole, the Mercedes driver was immediately under pressure from a tightly packed leading group, with the top six remaining remarkably close through the opening phase. A VSC around Lap 6 triggered the strategic battle: Rankup and RothNz dived into the pits, with RothNz ultimately committing to a long first stint while Rankup opted for a two-stop strategy.

That gamble eventually paid off for the reigning champion, who charged back through the field and snatched third from Rollie on the final lap - the second consecutive week Rankup has pulled off the same late podium on track. Rollie had looked strong throughout and finished fourth, but being released behind Tbran and then having to deal with classic Bards defence once again made the final stint more difficult. Bards himself crossed the line in fifth once more, giving the exact same on-track podium with Netherlands...

Behind them, Tbran delivered another impressive wildcard performance for Williams in sixth, while Scaparro recovered to seventh despite penalties. His Qatar weekend had begun badly after an early incident in the sprint damaged both his wing and floor, but he found considerably more pace for the main race. Mrbenchod followed in eighth, giving Mercedes another strong haul, 

Gordini legend's first race on 26 DLC saw him ninth on track, but the wildcard rule limitation for Crunchypancake he reserved for made him classify as P12. Energetic's wildcard was limited to P14, this made the drivers below Tbran move up one position down to Toxxicelijah. Resulting in Yeshurrun, Trenchghost and Korka6_cz move up two positions and classify P8, 9 and 10 respectively, bringing an impressive impressive debut result in Cadillac for Korka6. ToxxicElijah classified as 11th for Red Bull, Gordini classified as Crunchy wildcard in P12 ahead of Elche in the other Ferrari. Tbran classified P14 for Energetic. Sir Ibbo brought his Haas home in 15th, with DeejaayPandaa 16th for Audi and Fox becoming the only DNF in feature race in Cadillac.

For Box-for-inters, however, none of that could overshadow a statement weekend: pole, sprint disappointment, then a feature-race victory when it mattered.

Qatar threw everything at us but it is about survival, composure and absolutely refusing to give up! Things did not go our way but we kept believing. The team did an incredible job with the car and I delivered them the win. It means so much back at the factory - this is for them and to my special one who was watching the race thanks to ghost - great stream.

THE CROWN EDGES CLOSER TO RANKUPWITHME WITH HUNGARY WIN AFTER BOLD STRATEGY CALL, AS BARDS BOTTLES ANOTHER MAIDEN WIN...

The final 100% race of Season 24 delivered another strategic thriller, and once again it was the Williams duo stealing the show. Rankupwithme claimed victory after withstanding relentless late pressure from teammate Bards, while Furios_Donyy56 secured his first A1881 podium for Haas in only his second full-time appearance. With another maximum score, Rankup now has one hand firmly on the championship crown as the season heads into its closing rounds... Williams looked untouchable all weekend. Rankup committed to an unconventional soft-to-hard strategy while much of the field leaned toward mediums, and it paid off brilliantly. After slicing through traffic following his first stop, he had built a commanding 19-second advantage before contact with a backmarker damaged his front wing and forced an unscheduled early stop. SV5 MASTERS THE CARNAGE AT JEDDAH SEASON OPENER

The Saudi Arabian GP kicked off the new season in brutal fashion, with SV5 taking a commanding win under the lights of Jeddah ahead of Bards and his teammate Selecta. The podium set the tone for a chaotic opener that was a likely scenario for Jeddah, more so when cockpit cam is forced... From pole, SV5 looked razor-sharp in his new Racing Bulls machinery, especially with the usual title heavyweights Jordan and Mejg absent, leaving the spotlight wide open. When the lights went out, that spotlight turned into a floodlight of chaos almost instantly. A massive first-lap incident at Turn 3 saw Justin clatter into NaeDangerDavid, with Elche also collected, triggering the first safety car and causing widespread damage down the field.
