BOBOW CROWNED CHAMPION AS JORDAN AND MEJG ARE DISQUALIFIED AND BANNED FOR DICKERY AT HUNGARY

The Season 23 finale at Hungary delivered everything: a first-time champion, a first-time race winner, a first time podium finisher, a championship decided in the final laps, and ultimately two dickqualifications that completely reshaped both the race result and the title fight. Officially, the win belonged to Energetic, with Mamoodev and Rankupwithme in podium. Behind them, however, the biggest celebration belonged to Bobow, who was crowned the new A1881 World Drivers' Champion after one the most dramatic finale in league history.

Qualifying had started with Bobow producing another brilliant pole lap, narrowly beating Mejg. Jordan, meanwhile, had already committed to an alternative strategy and somehow found a way to disqualify himself in qualifying, leaving him "having to" start from the back on hard tyres.

The opening phase saw the top six running nose-to-tail inside DRS range until the first safety car on lap 6. From there, strategic games began to emerge. Energetic immediately showed race-winning pace in the Aston Martin, while Mamoodev looked exceptionally quick throughout the opening stint in the Alpine.

What initially appeared to be a title showdown between Bobow and Mejg later became something very different. Following a post-race investigation on official stream of legendary Ironghost, both Jordan and Mejg were disqualified from the final classification after the admins and the grid concluded that Jordan had deliberately altered his race to provide strategic assistance to a non-teammate through DRS support and strategy choices, despite explicit prior instructions that such cooperation should not exist.

The ruling proved decisive.

Before the disqualifications, Bobow's championship hopes had been hanging by a thread. A late disconnect with only eight laps remaining handed control to the game's AI, which then decided the optimal strategy was apparently to pit the Williams not once, but twice on 8 laps. What looked set to be a heartbreaking title loss became a championship victory once the final administrative decisions were applied. Bobow officially finished sixth but left Hungary with the only trophy that truly mattered. The new champion's season was built on consistency, and even a late disconnect could not stop decency to win over dickery in A1881.

Energetic therefore inherited not only the race win but also his first career A1881 victory. It was thoroughly deserved too, as he had been among the quickest drivers all afternoon and consistently positioned himself near the front while others became distracted by title games.

Second place went to Mamoodev, another driver who impressed with excellent pace from start to finish. Rankupwithme completed the podium in what may be the feel-good story of the day. A first A1881 podium is impressive in any machinery, but achieving it with a Kick Sauber makes it even more notable.

Rollie spent much of the race hanging onto the leading group and looked capable of a podium himself. Unfortunately, he picked the wrong battle in the closing laps, fighting Energetic despite carrying a three-second penalty. The time lost eventually opened the door for both Mamoodev and Rankupwithme to get ahead, leaving the Mercedes driver fourth.

Bards endured a difficult afternoon by his standards. Running with what paddock sources estimated to be a six-beer disadvantage, the Alpine driver still managed to secure fifth, although even he would likely admit it was not one of his strongest performances.

Scaparro finally converted his improving pace into a strong result despite serving a qualifying ban, finishing as best of the rest for McLaren. Keon quietly continued doing Keon things and brought home more valuable points for Haas.

Crunchypancake followed for McLaren, while Sir Ibbo once again achieved his trademark feat of being the last driver alive on track.

Tvoje's final appearance before retirement ended unfortunately after being collected by teammate Elche's unsafe rejoin. The resulting retirement effectively ended his race on the spot. Elche then left the server shortly afterwards, which may or may not make Tvoje feel any better.

Dunce had a quiet Ferrari race, Javinwain struggled throughout for Williams, and NaeDangerDavid's reserve appearance for VisaRB ended without much reward. Rothnz appeared to fall asleep (literally) at the launch, taking himself out and continuing his nap.

The finale may have ended with a lesson rather than a trophy: when a league founder specifically says "don't be a dick," it is wise to listen, even if it is contrary to your nature...

With Season 23 now complete, Bobow enters the history books as champion, Energetic becomes the newest race winner on the grid, and Rankupwithme secures a first career podium. Not a bad way to end debut season as full time.
