NO SAFETY CARS, NO MERCY: BOX-FOR-INTERS DOMINATES ZANDVOORT

Box-for-inters broke through for his maiden A1881 victory at Zandvoort, leading home RothNz and Rankupwithme in a race that belonged almost entirely to Mercedes. There were no Safety Cars to shake things up, leaving strategy and outright pace to decide the afternoon. Box-for-inters made the most of both. Whatever preparation was done behind the scenes clearly worked, as the Mercedes driver controlled the race from pole and converted his first A1881 start at the front into a landmark first win.

Behind him, RothNz delivered the performance of the day. Starting fourth, the McLaren driver stretched his second stint all the way to finish line and was rewarded with his first A1881 podium since his Aston Martin podium at RedBul Ring, back in Season 17. That is a very long wait for silverware, but the wait is finally over for The GOAT.

Rankupwithme initially looked set for another familiar victory challenge, but had to settle for third after a fierce late battle with Rollie. The VisaRB driver survived the fight and inherited the final podium place, while Rollie was left to wonder what might have been after a snap on the penultimate lap cost him what could have been a double McLaren podium. The pair had been trading blows deep into the race, with Rollie recovering strongly after his second pit stop.

Bards finished third on the road, but a 10-second pit-lane speeding penalty dropped him to fifth in the final classification. The Alpine driver therefore lost out to Rankup and Rollie despite completing the race ahead of both on track.

Mrbenchod produced another solid drive for Mercedes to take sixth, completing a huge points haul for the team and helping make them the clear Team of the Week. His race wasn't completely clean, however, with his incidents involving Rankup now under investigation.

Furios_Donyy56 brought the Haas home seventh, while Scaparro's comeback from a disastrous qualifying session was one of the day's better recoveries. After being eliminated from Q1 following Pretty_debtor's unsafe rejoin and starting sixteenth, the Red Bull driver fought his way back to eighth after a lively series of battles, particularly with Energetic.

TrenchGhost made a promising full-time debut with Williams, taking ninth alongside the fastest lap of the race and immediately putting his name among the drivers to watch this season. Yeshurrun followed in tenth with the second VisaRB, while Fox made his A1881 debut with Cadillac and collected points in eleventh.

Crunchypancake brought the Ferrari home twelfth, ahead of ToxxicElijah in the Red Bull and Energetic in the Williams. Sir_Ibbo took fifteenth for Haas, and perhaps more importantly, escaped his usual fate of being the last driver alive on track once more, leaving that honor to Rexroth this time.

Rexroth also scored on debut for Audi, finishing sixteenth. NaeDangerDavid, standing in for Deejaypandaa, unfortunately couldn't convert his reserve appearance into points after a broken wing during the VSC period and then an unforced spin and eventual retirement in the pits.

Elche and Pretty_debtor both failed to reach the chequered flag, with Pretty_debtor becoming the only one of the new debutants not to finish.

For Box-for-inters, though, none of that matters. The maiden victory is finally his, Mercedes have opened the season with a statement, and Zandvoort has a new name on the winners' list.

The final 100% race of Season 24 delivered another strategic thriller, and once again it was the Williams duo stealing the show. Rankupwithme claimed victory after withstanding relentless late pressure from teammate Bards, while Furios_Donyy56 secured his first A1881 podium for Haas in only his second full-time appearance. With another maximum score, Rankup now has one hand firmly on the championship crown as the season heads into its closing rounds... Williams looked untouchable all weekend. SV5 MASTERS THE CARNAGE AT JEDDAH SEASON OPENER

The Saudi Arabian GP kicked off the new season in brutal fashion, with SV5 taking a commanding win under the lights of Jeddah ahead of Bards and his teammate Selecta. The podium set the tone for a chaotic opener that was a likely scenario for Jeddah, more so when cockpit cam is forced... From pole, SV5 looked razor-sharp in his new Racing Bulls machinery, especially with the usual title heavyweights Jordan and Mejg absent, leaving the spotlight wide open. When the lights went out, that spotlight turned into a floodlight of chaos almost instantly. A massive first-lap incident at Turn 3 saw Justin clatter into NaeDangerDavid, with Elche also collected, triggering the first safety car and causing widespread damage down the field.
