YESHURRUN CONQUERS SPA AS BARDS RUNS DRY, KEON SEES PODIUM AS RANKUP'S ABSENCE BLOWS THE TITLE RACE WIDE OPEN

With the World Cup final forcing one of A1881's rare schedule changes, the timing caught championship leader Rankupwithme off guard, leaving the Williams star absent from the grid. That opened the door for one of the biggest shake-ups of Season 24. Yeshurrun seized the opportunity in brilliant fashion, claiming his maiden A1881 victory at Spa-Francorchamps ahead of Keon and Mamoodev, while Bards suffered heartbreaking last-lap drama that denied him what looked destined to be his own first A1881 career win...

Although the forecast promised a dry Belgian Grand Prix, Spa once again reminded everyone why its weather can never be trusted. Light drizzle arrived after the opening laps, forcing strategic decisions that would define the race. Bards initially looked firmly in control despite delaying his switch to intermediates compared to Yeshurrun, but the Williams driver's race unraveled in the cruellest possible fashion. After managing the changing conditions superbly, he overlooked his fuel consumption and ran completely dry on the final lap, tumbling from certain victory to fourth place.

Yeshurrun had his own fuel concerns and had already accepted defeat, believing Bards' advantage was insurmountable. Instead, fortune swung his way as the Williams slowed dramatically, allowing the McLaren driver to inherit both the lead and a long-awaited maiden victory. Combined with Rankupwithme's absence, the result tightens the championship considerably, with Yeshurrun now firmly establishing himself as a genuine title contender rather than simply chasing a top-three finish.

Keon continued his remarkable adaptation to the new-generation cars by delivering Ferrari's strongest performance of the season. Having arrived with virtually no preparation, he spent almost the entire race desperately fuel saving while defending from Rollie and later resisting relentless pressure from Mamoodev. The podium itself was unexpected enough, but Bards' dramatic fuel drama elevated Keon to second, his first A1881 podium since Season 22.

Mamoodev once again proved why he has become one of the league's most valuable reserve drivers. Filling in for Justin, he quietly delivered Haas a huge haul of championship points while pushing Keon until a late slide ended his hopes of stealing second.

Rollie looked well placed to challenge for the podium but gambled by staying on slick tyres for far too long as the drizzle intensified. The strategy ultimately cost him valuable time, leaving the Alpine driver to settle for fifth despite showing competitive pace throughout the opening stages.

Energetic brought Mercedes home in sixth after another solid afternoon despite trying out cockpit cam first time, while Cadillac celebrated a double points finish as Atisthrottle crossed the line ahead of teammate Box-for-inters, whose race also included finishing one lap down. ToxxicElijah secured further points for Red Bull despite a time penalty.

Luca endured one of the busiest afternoons in pit lane with six stops before eventually retiring, while Dunce's VisaRB race also ended early. Sir Ibbo completed only nine laps before becoming the final retirement.

The championship picture has changed dramatically. Rankupwithme remains the leader despite not racing, but Bards and now race winner Yeshurrun have both closed the gap substantially. Spa producing another first-time victor, the fight for the Season 24 crown suddenly looks far less predictable than it did a week ago.

Yeshurrun: "I’m very excited to get my name out there on the Hall of fame list and one step closer to my goal this season of finishing top 3 or better with 'rankwithme' missing the race I got a pretty good at winning but actually made a mistake under fuelling and already accepted the fact that I’m not catching bards but for my surprise bards also under fuelled and didn’t manage it and fell down, I didn’t fully realised I won after the race since I was down by 8 sec 2 laps to the finish lane, I’m very happy and hopefully I can win more races at this incredible league. A1881🏆💪🏼 🫶🏼"
