JORDAN WINS SLIPPERY ZANDVOORT DUEL AS WEATHER SHIFTS AND RIVALS CLOSE IN

Alpine’s Jordan claimed a well-earned victory at the Dutch Grand Prix, Round 2 of Season 19, after mastering tricky conditions that shifted from wet to dry. Aston Martin’s AA_Mejg crossed the line close behind in second, with debutant Renno_RC7 delivering a stunning drive to third in the underpowered KICK Sauber — instantly making waves in A1881...

“I was just trying to manage the conditions and the gap after the early laps,” said Jordan post-race. “The inters started working well, but once the track dried up, it was just about not making mistakes. The safety car late on made things a bit tight, especially with the wing damage, but I’m glad we held on.”

The race began in damp conditions, with much of the grid split between full wets and intermediates. Mejg committed to full wets while Jordan rolled the dice on inters. For the opening lap, the wets looked stronger, but after lap 3 the track began drying quickly. Jordan surged ahead as the wets began overheating, building a significant gap over champion Mejg...

As the race seemed to be winding down calmly, chaos was reintroduced when Bhavish's Mercedes retired in the closing stages, triggering a late safety car. The field bunched up with just three laps to go, setting up a tense final shootout. Despite suffering minor wing damage, Jordan managed to fend off a charging Mejg to take the win by a small margin, with a little bit of help from the lapped cars of Endru and Rollie in between the two.

Renno_RC7 was the surprise of the day, expertly navigating the changeable conditions and capitalising on last lap-last corner spin of Naedangerdavid to deliver a podium on debut — a massive result for  himself and the struggling KICK Sauber team.

Red Bull’s Javinwain continued his quietly strong season with another top-four finish and setting the fastest lap, followed closely by Ferrari’s NaeDangerDavid, who almost had the podium after a disappointing Canada opener. Another KICK Sauber, this time in the hands of stand-in KreonLFC, grabbed sixth in an encouraging outing and brought JackedDaniels some wildcard points.

Selecta (Red Bull) took seventh despite hitting David's Ferrari after a back-and-forth scrap with Endru (Williams), who crossed the line eighth after battling through from P12. Alpine’s Rollie_A1881 finished ninth, followed by Keon (reserving in the Haas) in tenth — rounding out a strong haul for reserve drivers today.

Further down the order, Quartiux brought the Mercedes home in P11, ahead of RES_Cajoco (filling in for Rian in the second Williams) and Dunce, who struggled for pace all race in the Aston Martin. Ferrari’s TarkanGino was next, with Kast1908 and TSCRacing in the McLarens taking P15 and P16 respectively.

Inginne and Sir_Ibbo were the last two drivers alive in the VisaRBs, while Bhavish’s DNF ended a disappointing day for the Mercedes outfit despite promising qualifying pace. Inginne has got rid of 6 eggplants with this, denying an embarrassing all-time record of dnfs.

With two rounds complete, Jordan now leads the Drivers’ Championship by just two points over Mejg, with 68 to 66. Rian remains third on 48 despite not racing in Zandvoort, while Javinwain and Endru round out the top five.

In the Constructors’ battle, Alpine stays on top with 102 points, but Aston Martin (86) and Williams (88) remain within striking distance. Red Bull (61) and KICK Sauber (48) both gained ground this weekend, while Ferrari sits sixth on 43.

Newcomers Renno_RC7 and KreonLFC have already shaken up the grid dynamic, while Cajoco and Keon proved valuable assets as reserve stand-ins for Rian and Crunchypancake. With a number of teams still adapting to the new F1 25 handling, the season promises to only get more unpredictable from here.

Thanks again to Ironghost for the livestream, Be sure to catch Jordan and Mejg’s post-race thoughts at the end of the stream.
