THRILLING FINISH AT THE SPANISH GP: AA_MEJG DOMINATES AS TITLE RACE NARROWS

The Spanish Grand Prix delivered an electrifying race, with AA_Mejg taking a commanding victory that further solidified his position at the top of the driver standings. The result brings him within touching distance of the Drivers' Championship as the season heads to its final race in Jeddah...

Rian started on pole and dictated pace, until he lost the car only 6 laps to go and triggered the safety car which took the race win away from himself. AA_Mejg kept expertly managing the pace while his nearest rivals were all around him all race, keeping the championship alive for one final showdown... When asked about his title chances post-race, he was still cautious:

Mejg: Thank you very much! First of all, I'm of course delighted with today's result in Spain. It was a tough race with intense battles. To stand on the top step of the podium again is a great feeling. The season finale is at Jeddah, a street circuit that I like, however there are many walls so it's not over until everyone has crossed the finish line for the last time. Before the season started I didn't expect to be in this position with my Vcarb going into the last round. I hope my league racing experience will guide me now that it matters the most...

Jordan Keeps Alpine and Himself in the Fight

Jordan put in a stellar performance for Alpine, securing second place and keeping him alive in the championship battle.

Endru’s Reign Ends, NaeDangerDavid Surges

Last year’s champion, Endru, finished third in his Mercedes. Despite his valiant efforts, the reigning champion has been mathematically dethroned and now sits just behind NaeDangerDavid in the standings. NaeDangerDavid drove a solid race in the Aston Martin, gave Perez moments to defend for his teammate, finishing fourth and maintaining his team’s lead in the Constructors’ standings.

Midfield Magic: Moikkuli, Rianc11, and Rollie_A1881 Shine

The midfield saw a heated battle, with Moikkuli delivering an impressive fifth-place finish for Haas. Meanwhile, Rianc was classified 6th due to his time penalty, (which he said he will appeal) despite finishing 3rd on track, keeping his hopes alive as the closest challenger to AA_Mejg in the Drivers' Championship. Rollie_A1881 had a steady performance, finishing seventh in his Mercedes, contributing to the team’s overall strong result in the Constructors’ standings.

Ferrari’s Double-Point Finish

It was a solid, though unspectacular, outing for Ferrari, with Rothnz finishing eighth and Dan ninth. The team’s performance helped them maintain their fifth-place position in the Constructors' standings. Rothnz rightaway appealed his time penalty which made him classified behind Rollie once more... And Rollie immediately deleted the appeal ofc 😘

Alpine and VisaRB Round Out the Top 10

Gordini secured 10th place for Alpine, helping his team stay competitive in the Constructors’ Championship. Meanwhile, iiDunce, despite an inconsistent race, finished just outside the top 10 in 11th for VisaRB.

KICK Sauber and Williams Battle for Points

Moksha and Slowfiveohh represented KICK Sauber, finishing 12th and 14th, respectively, and adding to their team’s tally. Keon could not find much pace in his Haas and settled for P13. Meanwhile, Selecta_NL brought home 15th place for Williams, just ahead of his new rival Sir Ibbo... Williams remains sixth in the Constructors’ standings.

Red Bull’s Struggles Continue

It was a disappointing day for Red Bull, with Sir_Ibbo finishing 16th and Inginne retiring from the race on Lap 1 after a collision with Rothnz and Rollie. Despite their struggles, Red Bull is locked in a tight battle with KICK Sauber in the Constructors' standings.

Championship on the Line in Jeddah

With just one race remaining, the Drivers' Championship is down to the wire. AA_Mejg leads, but Rianc and Jordan remain mathematically in contention. The Constructors’ Championship is similarly poised, with Aston Martin holding a 53-point lead over VisaRB.

The Spanish GP was a spectacle of skill and strategy, setting the stage for a dramatic conclusion to the season at the Jeddah GP. Will AA_Mejg clinch his maiden title, or will one of his challengers pull off an upset? All eyes now turn to the final race of Season 16 on A1881!
