NAEDANGERDAVID WINS TOUGH RACE AROUND LAS VEGAS WHILE ENDRU CLIMBS BACK ON TOP!

Las Vegas GP brought some late drama with David capitalising on the safety car in his Aston, while Endru claims unexpected second place in Mercedes, just a nose ahead of Mejg’s VisaRB…

Rian was on pole at race start and his Aston pulled away together with Justin in McLaren, until the first safety car appeared on Lap 14, after Bhavish’s retirement.  This brought the other title contenders back into the picture and second stint was breathtaking with 6 of them within DRS of each other, after David, Rothnz, Endru and Mejg joined the duo of Rian and Justin. David was right behind his leading teammate when Justin eggplanted himself once more. He was the quicker of Astons in this last stint on soft tyres and he was able to pull away when the last SC left track only 2 laps to go. This gave David his second A1881 win, and a good shot on the title as we pass halfway through the season:

David: Tough race around Las Vegas. Apart from a small error on T1 Lap 1, it was a very strong race from me. For 49 laps I showed really strong consistency and I was able to use my aggressive, low DF setup to pull away on the final lap after a late safety car. I think everyone who were able to finish the race should consider themselves winners. On to the next one!

Endru followed David at finish line, after a painful race for him where he got damage from T1 dive of David. Mejg was almost about to get P2 despite serving a quali ban after his incident with Endru last week, but had to yield just 0.024 behind him in Visa RB...

Rian had superior pace in first stint and had benefited from the carnage behind him and pulled away, and he was rightfully frustrated after the safety cars stole a possible win from his hands. Nonetheless he kept himself in title fight and his team on top in WCC by coming 4th. Dunce got good pace again and contributed his team to keep WCC hopes alive for Visa RB, by coming 5th. Rollie had an eventful and distracted race and was lucky to be brought back into the picture with safety cars, and finished 6th, ahead of TarkanGino’s McLaren in P7. Rothnz was a disaster again, suffering from becoming too slow, combined with being dirty, hitting Rollie in last chicane and not even bothering giving position back… Luckily he also had time penalties so he was classified P8. Gordini followed his countryman at P9 in Alpine, due to his time penalties. Sir Ibbo was the last driver alive on track in his RedBull, but was classified as P10, ahead of Selecta who once more had a nervousness DNF under pressure. He was still classified as 11th in his Williams though, for completing %90 of the race.

Justin, Mirko, Tvoje and Bhavish were all eggplanted. A1881 is heading to %100 length Qatar GP next Sunday!
