ENDRU OPENS SEASON 16 IN CHAMPION STYLE ON MEXICO!
Endru the young champion has reached another strong win in the opener of Season 16, in his new Mercedes seat. AdamLindberg finished second in Alpine, showing his quality once more. Naedangerdavid in Aston had to settle for P3 although was very close to the win until final lap…
Endru began on pole to a race with confusing track
conditions, while it was raining but DRS was enabled. Everyone started on
slicks but Endru changed to inters early. He benefited from this for a few laps
but the track went dry quick enough so he needed to switch back to slicks and
lose positions as a result. He insisted on waiting for the SC on hards for 45
laps and finally when it arrived he picked the right set of tyres and steadily
climbed top on mediums, while most of the front pack was on softs. This brought
another strong start to season for the young champion. His late interview due to possible hangover is added below:
Endru: Race started on slicks in wet conditions which made me pit first lap as my engineer also told me that the rain would last 10-15 minutes but as soon as I exited the pits my engineer told me that the rain will end in 5 minutes and drs got enabled, after that i had to pit for slicks about 8 laps later and with that whole strategy I probably lost around 30 seconds to the leader
Luckily a safety car came out around lap 38 and i took the decision to stay out because i didn’t have new hards and i thought the mediums would die before the end, but after the restart i had no grip at all and i got stuck in p7 with no hope but it payed off with another safety car later on when i had new mediums and everyone else had to go on softs, after that i had a major grip advantage so i tried to play it smart and it worked with a bit of luck from David’s spin on the last lap
AdamLindberg’s performance in Alpine was once more
extraordinary, and he brought crucial wildcard points to his countryman
CPI_Jordan with P2. Neadangerdavid deserved more than P3 with his pace this
race, but had an incident in last lap to cost him his second career win in A1881.
Rothnz in Ferrari couldve finished P2 instead of P4, if he didn’t violate track limits while on straight... He was followed by Rian in Aston, who had an incident with Crunchy’s McLaren to cost him some time. Mejg finished P6 despite having to serve a quali ban in his Visa RB. Selecta and Mirko in Williams finished P7 and P8, ahead of Bhavish in Ferrari who was together with the front pack in the majority of the race but somehow f.cked up. Rollie had a disastrous race getting a puncture on L1 and waiting for the SC for 30 laps, only to come 1 lap later than he pits and to leave him lapped in SC queue. Dunce finished P11 in Visa RB. Slowfiveohh showed patience and dedication to bring his Sauber to finish line in a relatively decent position, P12. Nathh_g finished 13th in his debut race with Haas and showed good dedication as well. Crunchypancake came 14th in McLaren, switching positions and laps several times with Rollie. Sir Ibbo in Redbull seemed to be once more the last driver alive on track with P15, since Butcher Rabbit who fought hard to get rid of his tally of eggplants seem to be strangely classified as DNF again. Yet his eggplants are removed deservedly after bringing the car to finish in this difficult race.
Antoan, NBA_Jm, Scotty and Tarkan were all eggplanted in the
opener of Season 16…
We are heading to %100 length Interlagos next Sunday in A1881!
