ENDRU CLAIMS HIS FIRST A1881 TITLE IN HIS 11TH SEASON, ON SPA!
Endru clinched one of the most dominant titles of A1881 with his Visa RB, after missing it in equal points in Season 5… Tvoje was leading the Mercedes duo in podium, ahead of Dan…
Endru needed only to finish the race here to secure title, while his main rivals were missing and having a 96 points gap in championship. Yet he wanted it the hard way and chose to begin from the back and climb his way back to where he belongs. He skipped the rain patch on mediums while everyone pitted for inters, showing extraordinary skill once more… He was 20 seconds clear of P2 at finish line in his Racing Bull. He has been one of the oldest members of the current grid, and have had dramatic moments to lose the title. He was once more cool headed and modest in his interview, after dethroning his GOAT teammate:
Endru: I started p16 and got a good start and started going
up the field pretty fast, by the end of lap 6 i was leading after Jordan’s
crash which made my race easier, at the first safety car i pitted for mediums
and one lap later rain started, while almost everyone pitted I stayed out but
it turned out to not be a very short rain, at some point i was the single one
on slicks and i had no grip in the lower speed corners but i knew i had to make
the strategy work, then it finally started drying up then followed some laps of
me saving tyres to get the end but a late safety car came out and i pitted for
softs, after that it was about 13 laps of pushing without taking big risks
In the end i wanna thank Roth for helping me a lot this
season, he did a solid job as a teammate and i hope he gets that P2 in the
standings and he gets that wcc while I’m on holiday.
This was such a beautiful season, i hope to see everyone
again on track next season and hopefully i am still competitive”
Tvoje reached his second consecutive podium after his first
last week in Hungary, and climbed P2 in championship to have a better shot on
his first A1881 medal. Dan followed him in podium, giving him his second podium
this season after Qatar. The Mercedes duo also denied or delayed a possible
Visa RB WCC title with this double podium.
Behind podium was Rollie in his Aston, albeit being P7 at
finish line, due to less time penalties he had. He was followed by Dunce in
Visa RB reserving for Rothnz, gave a race-long battle with Rollie and finished
ahead, but classified behind due to his penalties. Bhavish finished 6th in
McLaren. Justin again had very good pace in Williams, showing how dangerous he
will be in a better car, but classified P7 for 15 seconds of track limits
penalties. SkidSolo reserved for Saul in McLaren and helped keep McLaren above
Aston in standings. Patrick Myler had good pace in Ferrari, was around the duo
of Rollie and Dunce all race, but he was victimised heading into bus stop in last
lap and had to settle for P9 eventually. Kast in Ferrari had a controversial
incident with Tbran heading into Eau Rouge, while they were 4 wide. He finished
P10, in his quest to save Ferrari from the bottom of WCC table. Tbran had a
very difficult race, getting a puncture and permanent damage after his incident
with Kast, but showed good patience and dedication to bring his Aston to finish
at P11. Naedangerdavid was definitely on podium pace in his Williams, but lost
the car right after saving himself from his teammates’ possible spin. He still
was classified as P12 due to completed laps. Sir Ibbo was once more the last
driver alive on track in his RedBull, in P13. He is close to a top-half of the
table finish with his solid consistency, first time after his P10 in Season 4.
Inginne, CPI_Jordan and Selecta were all eggplanted in
their own ways. Selecta out of nervousness of seeing Rollie in his mirror, Cpi
while still pushing despite having a 7 seconds lead, and Inginne in his own
original way…
We are heading to Baku GP next Sunday, the pick of Selecta
who thought he would make things hard for the grid…
