RIANC EXTENDS HIS LEAD WITH A GRAND SLAM ON BAHRAIN GP
After last week’s disappointing retirement, Rianc seemed
determined to save himself from any possible trouble by clinching a very
comfortable pole and increasing the gap to even let him pit without losing any
positions. Irishman kept his incredible stats of winning every race he finished
this season, sending strong signals of dethroning his fellow countryman Cajoco...
Rianc: Yea quali was
pretty good, in the end my first lap of q3 did the job and the race was just a
lot of managing as the lads behind got caught up in some battling so I was able
to build up quite a big gap, I wanted to
be the last out of the medium runners to pit incase I got caught up with a
safety car or anything, so I pit off of the mediums to go onto the hards on the
end of the lap 17, fortunately I just about came back out in first ahead of Rothnz but thankfully rothnz had very old tires at that point so I was able to
pull away and it was just about bringing it home with no accidents from there…
Gordini reached his first podium this season, after battling
for it with Cajoco, Rothnz and Haggisnt especially at first half of the race.
Cajoco had his second podium by coming third to help maintain the Alfa Romeo lead in WCC.
Just behind podium we had Rothnz in Williams who climbed P2
in standings, after Vithjalmen had somewhat a troublesome race. Haggisnt was
once more around the podium fight in the majority of the race and finished P5
with Haas. Behind him at sixth we saw the second Alfa Romeo of Valward who is
very likely to reach his first WCC medal in A1881 despite taking the full time
seat mid-season. He was followed by Tbran who reserved for Keon in Aston
Martin. Selecta was the slower of McLarens this time and finished P8. Leegoat of
Haas managed his hard tyres from L3 till the end and finished P9, yet he gave a
hard time with worn hard tyres to everyone who passed by. Mrmccann finished P10
in Mercedes in the absence of a teammate. Behind him was Dan in Williams and
had a relatively good pace considering the lack of practice this week.
Vithjalmen had a contact which resulted in damage with Tbran at race start and
then was not able to catch up to the front guys due to no entering of SC and
finished P12. Altan had promising quali pace but once more had a rookie mistake
of missing delta and receiving a DT, which hurt him a lot and made him settle
for just finishing ahead of Rollie, at P13. Rollie seemed to have much better
pace on hards and battled with Mrmccann for P10 until the first pits, but
couldnt find any pace in his last stint on mediums and finished P15, failing to
contribute enough to Alpine for his precious medal… Kingdom finished P15 in
Ferrari. He was followed by Kast in Redbull who reserved after a long time for
Cmrcnn. Elgogetaman in Alphatauri finished 17 and Butcher got rid of his triple
eggplants by coming 18th and also receiving the last avaliable point. Sir Ibbo
the legend has been the only driver in the history of A1881 to finish a race
but not scoring any points, by coming 19th.
As the A1881 Grid seems getting used to sim damage with no
eggplants and even SCs, we are heading to USA GP next Sunday!
