HAGGISNT WINS CANADA GP AND PRESENTS ROTHNZ THE FIRST CROWN OF A1881!
Haggisnt won the deciding race of the season and decided Rothnz sustain his dominance. Cajoco finished in second place, giving him second in WDC, a single point behind the champion Rothnz, who calmly followed him on third step of podium…
Race began with Altan on pole but he dropped down to seventh
after his contact with Endru in T1. Endru wasn’t affected by this and he
carried a comfortable lead until the exit of the first SC. Before the exiting
of SC, Endru lost and retired the car and this possibly changed the fate of the race and the season.
Haggisnt hunted Cajoco on fresh mediums while Cajoco was on worn hards, and
then he increased the lead. His 3s time penalty would still give Cajoco the win
and the title but Cajoco lost time while battling with Ebird and Haggisnt
pulled away meanwhile. Cajoco also received a penalty in last laps which
comletely ended his chances of title, when Haggisnt was safely reaching
checkered flag. With this win Haggisnt showed that he could have won the title,
if he didn’t miss a race or DNF in another. Haggisnt gave his last interview
before switching to reserve driving temporarily next season:
Haggisnt: “It was a
fun race, qualy didn’t go so well for me so I only managed to set one lap right
at the start, managed to invalidate then miss judge how long it takes to get
round to the start line after that. But at the start I somehow managed to get
up to the lead from p5 by turn 4 and from then on it was just managing the
tyres and fuel. Endru and Roth where both on softs so I was happy to just let
them back through and save some fuel behind Roth, Endru’s pace on the hard
tyres later on was insane and he definitely should have won the race after
pitting for meds during the first safety car and overtaking me when I pit the
next lap. But overall happy with how my race went just kept it calm and tried
to avoid any penalties. Congrats RothNz on another title, wish I had been up
there battling for the title with you and LOI_Cajoco at the end. Looking
forward to reserving next season and hopefully coming back to full time the
season after.”
Cajoco had an extraordinary season and surely deserved the
title too. He could very likely get it if whom he was competing was not Rothnz
machine. This incredible performance brought him his first medal for second
place in WDC and also the WCC medal with Alpine, together with Gordini and Tan’s
contribution.
When asked about his thoughts on title while he was on third
step of the podium, Rothnz finally admitted the tape helped:
Rothnz: “That was one epic way to end this season.
This was the result in Canada I predicted (AKA wished for)
on the forehand with Haggish P1, Cajoco P2 and hopefully me P3. I was a little
affraid Haggish would have let Cajaco pass him, cus of the tiredness that the
tapeguy would win another time. Im thankful everything ended on a sportsmanlike
way. Thank you guys.
But what made me a little bit calmer was that also Endru was
up there with an incredable pace. Unfortunately things happend. SC appearance,
Endru crashing during SC and things heated up in the end, and for a while I
didnt think I would get that crown. Ebird was also up there on softs and for a
while inbetween me and Cajoco.
Somehow everything went my way and i could end this race
right behind Cajoco and win the championship with only 1 point.
Awesome job by Cajoco today, he gave it all and brought up a
hell of a fight the last couple of races. Thank you for the fight, i’m sure you
come back stronger.
Overall I think I won cause of consistancy and routine. I
stayed out of trouble and smahed in decent results, race after race. Thats why
im standing here as a champ at the very end.
Also the tape helped…
Thank you all the administrations for the great effort you
guys put into this league. Especially big thanks to Rollie who put a huge
amount of time to make this league perfect.
Lets move on. CAS will do its thing once again and we will
probably again have more drivers fighting for the crown next season. See you in
F1 23, and thanks for this F1 22 era in A1881!”
Behind the podium we saw Ebird, showing clumsy but quick
racing once more, also setting the fastest lap. But his contribution failed to
get second place from McLaren in WCC, a single point short. In fifth place was
Altan in REDBULL, failing to finish the season above Rollie in McLaren, after
years of whining about his car… Yeah… Rollie finished 6th, having to spend 35
laps with fuel saving just like his teammate Dan. But still has been able to
finish the season with fourth in WDC, giving him the chance to pick a track for
next season and also bragging rights over Dan… Mrmccann had good pace again and
finished P7, while Dan lost it in last corner last lap and retired, but still
was classified as 8th. Sır Ibbo once more showed character and has been able to
finish this 70 laps race in once piece and with patience, in P9.
Tan, Tuznani, Elgogetman, Legendarygoat and Endru received
the last eggplants of F1 22 game.
We are moving to F1 23 in A1881 with Mexico GP next Sunday,
with a shuffling of the grid for Season 9!
