CAJOCO GETS HIS FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON ON SPAIN AND COMES BACK INTO TITLE FIGHT!
Spain gave A1881 another thrilling race and Cajoco his first win of the season. Haggisnt needed only a few more laps to attack for the win but had to settle for second. GOARdini completed the Alpine double podium…
First line was covered by Redbulls with Altan in front during start. At the exit of T1 Redbulls kept their positions and Mercs sat behind their back. The 4 safety cars in the first half of the race shuffled the grid multiple times with several different drivers gained the lead with different pit strategies. Cajoco was the one to have the lead on Lap 33 and with the last SC entering at L36, he switched to fresh mediums to take him until the end. He was cheerful to reach his first win of the season and third win in total in A1881:
Really happy to get my first win of the season! I feel like I drove a very smart race in pitting at the right times during the safety car chaos! For the early part of the race I was trying to stay on the hard tyre for as long as possible and not lose much gap to the leaders and by the time of the final safety car it was time to go aggressive and attack with some fresh mediums. I had a nice battle with Gordini and Endru before I turned into the hunted with a fast Haggis on the loose!! Thankfully I had enough to hold on for the win with the help of Rollie, Gordini and a couple of others keeping Haggisnt behind on the straights! Looking forward to the final two races on this game and hopefully myself and Alpine can finish on a high!”
With this win Cajoco climbed P3, just one point behind
Haggisnt and 30 points behind the Swedish Guy with Tape.
Haggisnt suffered many disasters including a spin during SC
and a DT penalty, but he was still just 4 seconds behind the leader on last 6
laps. He managed to reduce the gap to 2 seconds in the end but there were not
enough laps left. Yet with this result, he managed to clinch P2 on WDC and still has
his and all the server’s hope for a chance in the title. GOARdini was like a
machine as always, and got one of his classic podiums to give Alpine an even
more comfortable lead in WCC.
Rothnz finished 5th. Pfhhhh. Nanananaa. And his legs already
started shaking as Haggisnt and Cajoco get closer. Yeaahhhh! Behind him were
McLarens, with Dan ahead once more. Dan reduced the gap to a single point with
his teammate coming into his home grand prix. Rollie had good pace but went
through many things including being Butchered and having a DT, so he was happy
with the end result, despite voicing his concerns over his British team my be
favoring the British driver of the team on the British GP next week… Tbran
finished eight, also taking the fastest lap on Lap 65. Selecta admitted before
the race that this was one of his weakest tracks, yet was still able to score
some good points in Williams with P9. Elgogetaman finished his third race in a row, and
reaching his best result this season with P10. Tuznani finished his first race
this season and earned his first points by comin P11. Sir Ibbo was the last
driver alive on grid with P12...
Altan received the most valuable eggplant of the race, by
getting stuck on a curb. Leegoat, Butcher Rabbit, Cmrcnn, Mass, Kingdom and Ebird
all got eggplanted before Britain GP next Sunday…
