ROTHNZ WINS THE SAUDI ARABIA GP AND SAVES HEIDI FROM CRUEL ALPINE HANDS!
Rothnz won the Saudi Arabia GP in a dominant fashion, some 15 seconds ahead of his teammate Rollie who completed the Mercedes double. Third place was championship leader Altan’s…
Mercedes grabbed one-two in qualifying just the way they finished, but it took a good amount of drama to finish in the position they started. Rothnz and Rollie took the first sector in Lap 1 in a safe way and Rothnz increased his lead from there onwards while Rollie found himself losing position to Gio. Even if Rollie didnt hold them behind, the Alpine and Gio were far away from Rothnz’s pace throughout the race and Rothnz reached the win despite having a DT penalty. The champion of Season 3 was cheerful after his first win in last 3 seasons, the last one coming on Canada GP in Season 3 with Mercedes again, and he gave the longest interview of F1 history and even the history of journalism:
“Finally! Finally I grabbed the win!
I have waited a long time for this one and i’m very happy to
be able to perform at my best yesterday.
The combination of the awesome package from the -Mercedes-,
my favorite track -Jeddah Street Circuit- and the ultrasmooth, sensitive
-Fanatec DD1- it felt all the time that no one could stop me.
The Qualy was nothing special. I came in a little hurry because
i tried to fix a new high tech app -Sim Dashboard- on my phone so I could get
more Data-analyses from the car. Then suddently Rollie sent invite and clock
was dingdong and the qualy begun.
With kids running around the rig, app didnt work as
excpected and urine bladder almost exploaded, i did, lets say, a lap.
Then i hurryed down to toilet, released the liquid, get back
on my rig, told the kids to ST*U, then daddy put the car on an easy pole with
0.7sec.
Away we went in the race. Always good to start from pole to
stay out of contact in T1.
I lead the race confident and saving ERS. Gio was behind me
but i managed the gap without pushing the car to hard. I didnt want, or lets
say, I didnt need, to risk anything cause i knew I had the pace and i knew it
was a long ride and first half of the race wasn’t as important as the second
half.
We had a 100% race in front of us and i’m glad for that
after i was taking a stupid DT during SC-delta. I had put on new fresh Mediums
on lap 26 or something and was in the lead.
I wanted to push as hell to make the gap as big as possible
so i didnt came in very much traffic after i served the DT. I pushed (as hell),
took my DT, and came out 4th (!).
Now I had Altan, LeeGoat and then the big boss Cajoco ahead
of me. Time to hunt em down…
Strategic i pushed on right place so i got the first DRS on
Altan on the back of the Track. I was sneaky around behind him, didnt wanna
risk a overtake and let him get that last DRS on me on the long straight. Then
boom a perfect exit on the straight line, DRS open, ERS buttom pushed all the
way down. Overtake done ✅️, 2 to go.
Exact same strategy was done on Lee goat the next lap.
Boiingg, 1 to go.✅️
The boss left. Cajoco. He was a little bit harder to close
the gap to. I think he used a lot of energy when i was getting 2-3 secs behind
him. But he can’t play with me. Not here at Jeddah. I pushed.. damn i pushed.
And then suddently i saw that cute little rearwing of his. It was time to go
for the boss…
But then. What!! Tan crashed. Safety car number 4 was called
in.
Cajoco was so affraid of my overtake attempt so he forgot it could be a good idea to pit for softs. I did after Toto screamed to my radio "YES MICHAEL (MASI) THAT WAS SO RIGHT, BRING THAT SC AND LET ALL MY DRIVERS PIT. OH sorry, hi rothNz i thought i talked to Masi u know. SC coming lets go for the softs!"
After that fast talk with Toto i boxed for the reds just as
teammate Rollie, and rival Altan and Giooooo.
Cajoco boss was in 1st place but on (pretty) old mediums. I
knew i had biiiig advantage. But Cajaco did a sneaky and brilliant restart but
so what, 2 secs gap is nothing when rothNz is behind on fresh softs on the
Street of Jeddah. It was hammertime...
A nice clean overtake on Cajaco in T1/T2 and the boss had
fallen…
I run away the last lap and i saw on leaderboard that the
rivals Altan and Cajaco was 2 and 3. Damn i thought where is my boy Rollie?
There! Now i can see him. P5. Go Rollie, go! Push!
Now i watched more on leaderboard than on track. I had a..
lets say 8-10 sec advantage on Altan/Cajoco. Rollie was pretty far off and i
started to give up cheering at him.
But what now!
What happens?!
I couldnt believe my eyes. Rollie P2?! Gio P3? Where are Alpines?????
I looked at footage after the race. There i can see Altan
was pretty bored after 48 laps on Jeddah so he started search with his eyes in
the crowd to get a climpse of.. HEIDI. There she was! She was standing in the
stand of T3.
Altan stopped the car and close to the wall and tried to get
a kiss from her but then Cajoco stopped his car and yelled at Altan 'We dont
have time for that nonsence, Rollie and Gio is coming!"
They started to drive again but it was to late, both Rollie
and Gio could overtake them both.
YES. rothNz and Rollie makes the 1, 2 punch for Mercedes at
Jeddah. But HOW Gio lost the 3rd place back to Altan and also 4th place to Cajoco
is just a mystery and probably another story…
Cheers from rothNz!”
Rothnz didn’t leave too much to say about what happened
upfront. It’s just worth mentioning how comfortable Altan was in P2 at Lap 49
until he somehow lost the car at the exit of T2. What happened afterwards was
more interesting since Altan cost Cajoco damage while trying to rejoin track
which could have been made an appeal against, if they weren't teammates, also they had another contact in
T3 the last lap which gave Cajoco a complete red wing. The honey moon in Alpine
seeming to come to an end and drivers pulling their swords against each other, while
they have lost the lead to Mercedes in WCC, the gods seem to be looking for a
scapegoat in Alpine…
Rollie was as he is always, not risking it until the very
end and gaining advantage of the rookie mistakes of the drivers who don't seem
to be experienced ones whatever they experience… Getting closer to Altan in WDC
and helping his team secure the lead in WCC...
Altan counted himself lucky for reaching podium, after
incidents with himself, Cajoco and Gio, all of which could have ended with a
DNF. Cajoco was 4th, becoming the victim of his teammate’s greed, but accepted
the reality without any further comments on the tension between him and his
teammate…
Leegoat was again impressive, had a pace he never had in
Mercedes last season and grabbed an important and cool P5. Gio was just behind
Rollie in last turn in last lap, he had 3 secs penalty and he wouldn’t be
classified as 2nd even if he overtook Rollie, but somehow he chose to push hard in last turn and lost the car and lost
P3 to settle for P6. He then completed the race backwards, causing yellow
flags, which is inevitably going to be noted by FIA. Keon got his second P7 in
a row, giving a good steady pace in AT. Dan was 8th and probably disappointed
with the result, where his teammate Endru was missing. Albay joined as a
reserve after a long while and finished P9 in AT, followed by quali ban and
no-setup inflicted Mrmccann in P10. Twisted Jack was the last driver alive on
grid in his McLaren in P11, joining as a reserve after long time.
Butcher, Sir Ibbo, Tan, Atwinke and Fragiletunnel all had
their eggplants…
The excitement in A1881 will continue in iconic Monza with
another %100 length race next Sunday!
