JORDAN TAKES SPAIN GP WIN AS TITLE FIGHT TIGHTENS AT THE TOP

Jordan led home Bobow and Bards at the Spanish GP, converting a stunning pole lap into his first win of the season and adding another twist to an already tight championship battle...

From the very start, Jordan looked locked in. On a track he personally selected, the VisaRB driver delivered in qualifying and carried that form into the race.

The opening lap immediately put pressure on the contenders, as Mejg and Jordan went side by side into Turn 1. Jordan found himself off-track, losing positions early but committing to a strategy, echoing last season’s race-winning approach of extending a long hard stint deep into the race, after a safety car in first stint.

That same approach was mirrored by Bards in the Alpine, and it proved crucial. While Bobow in the Williams had strong pace on fresher mediums, Bards’ positioning kept him behind just long enough to shape the final podium battle. In the end, Bobow secured second place, but Bards’ defensive drive played a key role in how the race and the winner is determined. Jordan, remained unaffected out front, executing his race cleanly to take a well-earned victory and become yet another different winner this season, further intensifying the fight at the top.

Rankupwithme continued to impress as a wildcard entry, this time contributing strongly for Haas by finishing fourth and maximizing points for Keon. Justin followed in fifth in the second VisaRB, maintaining consistency and ensuring he stays right at the top of the standings, albeit on equal points with Bobow.

Dunce once again delivered a quiet but highly effective drive in the Ferrari, climbing from the lower grid to sixth without unnecessary risks. Mejg’s race, on the other hand, unraveled despite early promise. While leading mid-race, an uncharacteristic mistake forced him into the pits, and a subsequent 10-second penalty for ignoring local yellows dropped him down the order, though that penalty is reportedly under review.

Rollie faced one of the tougher challenges of the race, starting from the back due to a qualifying ban. On a track where overtaking is notoriously difficult, he fought his way up to eighth in the Mercedes but was notably held up by both Aston Martins, with Luca on track and Energetic through blocking his pit exit, playing their roles in limiting his progress. Still, finishing ahead of SV5 and Selecta added a layer of satisfaction after the circumstances that led to his grid penalty...

SV5 finished just behind in ninth, while Javinwain brought the Williams home in tenth after a steady drive.

Scaparro once again showed strong pace in the McLaren but found his race compromised, this time due to an incident involving Energetic. It continues a frustrating trend of strong speed not translating into results. Luca followed in the Aston Martin with a solid outing, while Tvoje had another inconsistent race in the Red Bull, requiring 4 pit stops.

Energetic himself finished just behind after a race that was impactful in more ways than one, while Sir Ibbo added another finish for Kick Sauber. Selecta endured a particularly difficult race in the Ferrari, eventually ending up last among the classified runners, even relinquishing the unusual “last driver still running” distinction to Sir Ibbo in what has already been a historic moment in league lore.

At the back, Yeshurrun and Elche were the only retirements. Elche’s race ended in the pits after severe rear wing damage following a spin at the final corner, while Yeshurrun’s exit remains unclear, continuing a difficult run that has yet to significantly contribute to Mercedes’ constructor ambitions.

Crunchypancake, meanwhile, was disqualified post-race for failing to serve a qualifying ban, capping off a tough weekend.

With four rounds complete, the championship picture tightens dramatically, as Bobow and Justin now sit level at the top, with Mejg still firmly in the hunt. Jordan’s breakthrough win adds yet another name into the mix, making this one of the most competitive starts to a season in recent memory.

Jordan interview added later: The race was strangely enough the most boring but also uniquely interesting race I’ve had the pleasure of winning. Fell away after a racing incident on lap 1 and just sat back since it’s near impossible to overtake in Spain.

Then when the SC came I knew the only chance I had to win from P5 was to massage the tyres all the way through 24 laps, which was 2 more than the recommended maximum in competitive. After 15 laps saving my delta was such that I was able to catch up with the leaders very quick, but was also being caught very quickly behind from the 2 stoppers, all the while still being unable to go 100% the whole race. This led to a very helpless but tense feeling of being chased down, and driving like Sainz in Singapore 24 to keep booboo away on the last lap😅
