NAEDANGER WINS CHAOTIC BELGIAN GP AS MEJG AND RACING BULLS SEAL WDC AND WCC AT SPA

Spa-Francorchamps delivered one of the most chaotic races in A1881 history, with NaeDangerDavid taking victory for Williams ahead of Aston Martins of Rollie and Charldinho, while AA_Mejg officially secured his fifth A1881 World Drivers’ Championship and Racing Bulls wrapped up the Constructors’ title with one race to spare.

From the opening lap, it was clear this shortened 50% distance race would be shaped more by survival and timing than pure pace. SCRFTronc’s rear-ending of Charldinho on Lap 1 caused immediate carnage behind, triggering the first of three safety cars and leaving Ironghost limping around with both front and rear wing damage. Racing was constantly interrupted, and long green-flag rhythm never truly arrived.

NaeDanger started from pole in the Williams and managed the chaos better than anyone. While others gambled aggressively on strategy, he stayed out of trouble and was perfectly positioned when penalties reshuffled the order late on. Rollie followed him home in second with Aston Martin, securing his first podium of the season, while Charldinho crossed the line first on the road despite staying on intermediates four laps too long on a drying track but was classified third after a costly three-second penalty for track limits.

Naedanger interview: Big points for the William's boys! A race of fortune, luck and strategy that played out perfectly. Happy to be back on the podium.

Behind the podium, the race had massive championship implications. AA_Mejg came into Spa knowing a finish inside Top 11 would be enough, and after crashing in qualifying he started deep in the field. In mixed conditions, he calmly carved his way forward, even leading the field before the final safety car neutralised his advantage. Fourth place was enough to crown him champion again, matching Rothnz’s legendary five titles and adding another chapter to his already historic A1881 career.

AA_Mejg Interview: My goal today was to win the A1881 world drivers' championship by finishing 11th or better. Things didn't start too well since I crashed out in qualifying. Started 15th and worked my way up the field in what was some crazy mixed weather conditions. I was leading, showing good pace and had the race under control with Charldinho and Javinwain behind me until the third and last safety car came out. The safety car took the race win away from me, but it didn't matter since I still won my 5th A1881 drivers' championship. The MEJG-museum in Sweden now has 5 WDC and 4 WCC trophies at display. Thank you for all the great battles out there today and throughout the season so far!

SV5 delivered another damage-limiting drive for Mercedes in fifth after starting from the back due to Q ban, while Selecta recovered from early disruptions to finish sixth. Bards brought solid points home for Williams in seventh, continuing a quietly strong second half of the season.

Javinwain placed eighth in the Red Bull after running near the front early, with Tvoje_mamkacz taking ninth for Ferrari. Scaparro completed the top ten in the McLaren despite front wing damage on lap one and a race defined by constant strategy resets, a result that summed up Spa’s unpredictability. He has an appeal to his 10s penalty, possibly bringing a better classification if approved.

Crunchypancake followed in eleventh ahead of Yeshurrun, who once again impressed with consistency and also remarkably better pace than before in his rookie season for Kick Sauber. Sir Ibbo brought the second Sauber home in thirteenth, while Valward, wildcarding for Racing Bulls, was classified fourteenth after being taken out on the final lap by an out-of-control Ironghost following contact from behind. Ironghost himself was also classified, despite the late drama, as was Justin, who saw his race end abruptly at the final corner but still met the classification threshold.

The retirement list was long. Elche’s Haas triggered the third safety car after stopping on track. Inginne never recovered from the early chaos, while Rian retired early in the race once more. SCRFTronc’s race ended before it truly began after the lap-one incident that set the tone for the afternoon, giving himself a bitter eggplant for a birthday present...

With one round left at Silverstone, the titles are decided, but pride, bragging rights and two other medals very much on the line. Spa may not have offered much green-flag racing, but it delivered history, heartbreak and another unforgettable chapter in A1881 lore.
