RAIN, RECOVERIES AND LATE DRAMA AS JORDAN TRIUMPHS IN CHINA

The Chinese Grand Prix delivered another exciting chapter in Season 22, where changing weather and late-race misfortune reshaped the order. In the end it was Jordan who emerged victorious in Shanghai, leading home teammate Justin for a KICK Sauber one-two, while AA_Mejg completed the podium after an impressive recovery drive.

The race began under dry conditions, but the looming question over the grid was simple: when would the rain arrive? Strategy quickly became a guessing game. Chaos struck early when Valward, reserving in the McLaren, spun at the exit of Turn 2 on lap two. Crunchypancake’s Ferrari slammed into the spinning car, triggering the only Safety Car of the 56-lap race.

That moment immediately split the field strategically. With rain approaching, some drivers dove into the pits under the Safety Car while others stayed out to wait for clearer signs of the weather. When the rain did arrive earlier than expected, the decision punished a few of the frontrunners. Both Mejg in the Haas and Bards in the Williams gambled by staying out on slicks longer, but the wet conditions forced them to pit later and dropped them all the way toward the back of the field.

While Mejg began carving his way forward again, the KICK Sauber duo quietly established control near the front. Jordan and Justin found themselves leading the pack and ran closely together for much of the race, with Jordan sitting roughly two seconds behind his teammate entering the final ten laps.

Then the race turned on its head. Justin suddenly had to start fuel saving, losing pace, and not long after suffered a disconnection. When he managed to return to the session he had already fallen well behind, turning what had looked like a likely victory into a frustrating second place. Jordan inherited the lead and held it to the flag to secure an important win for the championship fight.

Behind them, Mejg completed a remarkable comeback. After being one of the drivers hurt most by the early slick gamble, the Haas driver fought through the field throughout the race and snatched third place on the final lap by overtaking NaeDangerDavid’s Alpine, salvaging a huge result for the championship leader.

NaeDangerDavid had led large portions of the race near the front after starting from the front row and ultimately finished fourth after that last-lap move.

Pole sitter SV5-3787 brought his VisaRB home in fifth. While it was not quite the result the front-row start suggested early on, it marked another solid finish for the medal contender and continued his consistent run in recent rounds.

SCR_FTronc delivered one of the standout drives of the race. The Red Bull driver showed extraordinary pace in the mixed conditions and climbed into sixth place, securing his strongest finish of the season.

Behind him, Selecta enjoyed a sharp race in the sister VisaRB. The battle between Selecta and Rollie went right down to the final corners. Rollie had stretched his hard tyres for an enormous 42-lap stint and looked set to keep the position until the final lap. However, a wheelspin at the exit of the penultimate corner allowed Selecta alongside, and Rollie immediately returned the place in fair play before the finish line.

That left Selecta seventh and Rollie eighth after a bold strategy that nearly paid off.

Yeshurrun secured ninth for Red Bull, delivering the team’s best result of the season despite starting from the back of the grid with a qualifying ban. Dunce rounded out the top ten in the Aston Martin.

Just outside the top ten, Energetic brought the second Haas home in eleventh, followed by Tvoje in the Mercedes. Bards endured one of the toughest races of the frontrunners, hoping for that late SC that never arrived, after the early slick gamble and finished thirteenth despite starting fourth on the grid.

Further down the order, Rothnz recovered from the back rows in the Ferrari to fourteenth, while Scaparro finished fifteenth for Mercedes after a steady but quiet race, reporting controversial moments with Javinwain. Gordini crossed the line sixteenth in the Alpine, ahead of Sir_Ibbo’s McLaren.

Three drivers failed to finish the race. Javinwain’s Aston Martin  and Crunchy's Ferrari dropped out later in the event, while the earliest retirement came from Valward’s McLaren after the spin that triggered the Safety Car.

With the result now confirmed, the championship picture continues to evolve. Mejg maintains the Drivers’ Championship lead, but Jordan’s victory tightens the gap significantly. Meanwhile, KICK Sauber’s one-two finish vaults them into the lead of the Constructors’ Championship ahead of Haas as the season’s momentum continues to shift.

Winner interview will be added later.
