BOBOW STUNS ON DEBUT AT SILVERSTONE AS SEASON ENDS IN CLASSIC BRITISH CHAOS

The season finale at Silverstone delivered exactly what it usually promises: uncertainty, mixed conditions, and decisive moments shaped by judgment rather than outright pace. On the podium, debutant Bobow took a remarkable win ahead of Rian, with newly crowned champion Mejg completing the top three after a tense and confusing race...

The race began on a dry track, but a light drizzle arrived early and never fully left, creating one of those classic Silverstone scenarios where slicks always looked risky but intermediates never quite paid off. The drivers who committed to slicks and trusted the track to stay just dry enough ultimately came out ahead, while those who switched to inters and then scrambled back to slicks did well to limit the damage.

Bobow, reserving for Alpine in his very first A1881 start, kept things simple. Treating the race like a calm Sunday drive, he went medium to hard and never panicked when the rain arrived. That composure paid off with a sensational debut victory, making him the fourth driver in league history to win on debut, joining Adamlindberg, Moikkuli and Felixone.

“I'm very happy, didnt know what to expect, a few drivers were mad at the game, but it was light raining and I made with my teammate the right decision to go for dry tyres and not inters and it worked out well. Happy with the chance I got to drive here today and we will meet again.”

Behind him, Rian drove a strong and aggressive race in the other Alpine. Starting deep in the field, he carved his way forward but couldn’t quite overturn the undercut Bobow gained during the changing conditions. A late push brought him right onto the leader’s gearbox, and he later joked that Alpine only managed a 1–2 after Endru stepped away from his full-time seat...

Mejg, already secure as champion, was one of several drivers caught out by the weather indecision. Opting for a two-stop while others committed to staying out, he limited the damage and brought his VisaRB home in third, closing the season with yet another podium to underline a dominant title campaign.

A welcome return came from HaggisNT, the two-time champion, who showed he hasn’t lost his touch with a composed fourth place in the Williams under tricky conditions. Selecta followed in the Mercedes after a clean, controlled drive, while SV5 finished just behind him. Despite frustration with the weather during the race as if he never watched a Silverstone race, SV5’s result secured second place in the championship, a meaningful comeback after last season’s ban, rewarded with a medal next to his name.

Bards had a relatively quiet finale in the Williams, bringing the car home solidly. Valward, wildcarding for SCR_FTronc in the Red Bull, crossed the line seventh on the road but was officially classified eighth due to wildcard result limitations. Dunce produced one of the standout stints of the race, showing impressive late pace on hard tyres in conditions where warming them up was anything but easy.

Rollie had a busy race in the Aston Martin, defending hard and being on the receiving end of some ambitious moves from Gordini. One of those sends worked, another didn’t, but Gordini’s actual mistake came with his switch to intermediates while watching Rollie struggle on them, costing him dearly in the Ferrari.

Tvoje brought the Ferrari home after a steady run, while Skid Solo’s return to the grid as a McLaren reserve was a nice sight after a long absence. Javinwain endured a difficult race from pole position, never quite recovering after strategy swings went against him.

Yeshurrun and Elche finished further back but are already looking ahead to the upcoming CAS reshuffle, hoping their first full seasons might soon come with more competitive machinery. Crunchypancake saw the flag for McLaren, while Sir Ibbo was the only retirement of the day, triggering a short virtual safety car with little overall impact.

Jordan did take part in the race, but a rules infringement with taking wrong car meant he was disqualified and not classified in the results, though his earlier points were enough to secure third in the final championship standings.

With that, the curtain falls on the season. Mejg ends the year as world champion, VisaRB take the constructors’ crown, and Silverstone signs off with a debut winner, unpredictable weather, and the perfect reminder of why no finale is ever straightforward at this place.
