RACING BULLS VACUUM: JORDAN SUCKS THE GRID DRY WITH ANOTHER QATAR CLEAN-SWEEP
The Losail night sky saw Jordan extend his VisaRB dominance once again, beating teammate AA_Mejg and Mercedes star SV5-3787 to seal yet another win this season. With three safety-car-heavy races behind us, Qatar finally offered a steadier rhythm — though not without the classic A1881 signature chaos that Ironghost gleefully narrated, after discovering the game had accidentally spawned his own AI onto the track.
Jordan once again proved unstoppable. After another outrageous pole lap, he kept the lead from lights to flag and pulled off a championship-calibre masterclass by running hard tyres all the way to the end of this 57-lap slog, while his crowned wingman Mejg safely reached P2 by not receiving any penalty, continuing the team's streak of doubles all season. A late charge from Rian in the Alpine had fans hopeful for an upset, but a costly 10-second pit-lane speeding penalty wiped out any chance of stealing the win. SV5 kept himself within striking distance of the VisaRBs, showing Mercedes still has bite when the balance is right, but he ultimately settled for third after the penalties were settled.
Behind the podium, Selecta and Javinwain were locked in a race-long grudge. Their duel escalated around the middle stint when Selecta — potentially in a THC-induced miscalculation — tapped the back of the Red Bull and sent Javinwain into the wall. The resulting safety car was the only one of the evening. Fortunately, it allowed Javinwain to pit without losing too much ground, though he wasn’t exactly cheerful on the radio.
Rothnz made the loudest comeback of the year so far, returning to the grid in a McLaren and immediately showing why the league calls him The GOAT. He started third, even set the fastest lap, and only narrowly avoided making Mejg’s evening significantly shorter. He crossed the line seventh, but will be officially classified tenth due to Crunchy’s wildcard rules — or the Rollie Clause, since it magically always seems to work in Rollie’s favour.
Speaking of Rollie, he climbed from eighteenth due to his Quali ban and battled everyone from Bards to the two McLarens. He ended up ahead of Dunce continuing their friendly Aston Martin rivalry. Dunce didn’t have the best pace, but he kept the team’s scoring streak alive and remained one of the grid’s most consistent mid-pack stabilisers.
Rian’s race was a rollercoaster. He had the pace, the soft-tyre charge was electric, but the penalty ruined what could have been one of his best drives in recent seasons. Endru was unlucky again — another Q1 exit due to wheel issues and a safety car that arrived at the worst possible time for anyone on hards. Gordini quietly did his job for Ferrari, while Tvoje pulled off a strong showing to beat Rollie and climb above his new rival Sir Ibbo in the standings. Sir Ibbo, meanwhile, finished last among human drivers yet again, this time even behind Ghost’s rogue AI, which was later removed from classification. The field therefore stretched from P1 to P18, making this one of the rare full-finisher races in A1881 history.
Elche and Inginne both completed the race — a particular achievement for Inginne, whose reliability curse may finally be softening. Scaparro showed surprisingly solid pace and played perfect wingman to help Rothnz fend off Rollie, even if the final result didn’t show the full quality of his drive. SCR_FTronc had a rougher evening than usual, spending more time in traffic than he would’ve liked, but he still brought home useful points. The Williams of Bards and NaeDangerDavid once again found himself locked out of serious contention, though he delivered a gritty drive and held Rollie off for the final portion of the race.
VisaRB leaves Qatar with an enormous championship cushion, while the midfield remains a chaotic blend of shocking comebacks, unlucky penalties, and the eternal question of whether anyone can actually challenge Jordan this year — or whether we’re already watching a champion-elect in slow motion.
Jordan interview: This race was a lot more hard fought and uncertain than the earlier races this season. Got a stupid penalty at the start because I thought I could gap, but it was impossible and everyone had good race. The early SC made the race very uncertain as I had no idea the hards to the end would be faster, but thankfully it worked out with perfect execution from both of the VCARBS and good pace and mistakes from people around us.
