JUSTIN TRIUMPHS IN JEDDAH AS SEASON 20 ENDS WITH FIREWORKS

Season 20 concluded under the glowing lights of Jeddah, and it was a night that delivered everything —unexpected domination, fiery battles, and a sprinkle of controversy. Wildcard Justin, standing in for Tvoje Mamkacz at Alpine, absolutely obliterated the competition, taking both the Sprint and the Feature Race wins to mark his first-ever A1881 victory. Behind him, VisaRB’s Endru and champion AA_Mejg completed the podium, while Jordan’s 10-second penalty dropped him from P2 on the road to P4 at the flag.

It was a fittingly chaotic end to a season that had already crowned its champions—Mejg for the drivers, and VisaRB for the constructors. But if anyone thought Jeddah would be a relaxed exhibition, Justin’s performance quickly corrected that assumption. The Alpine driver looked untouchable from the moment lights went out, opening a gap in the first laps that not even Jordan’s relentless pace could close. Some wondered whether Alpine’s raw speed had something to do with it, leading to plenty of post-race chatter from Jordan and Mejg on whether the reserve allocation had been a bit too kind.

In typical Jeddah fashion, drama unfolded everywhere. The 25-lap sprint of chaos saw several tight duels—most notably the long-running fight between Rollie in the other Alpine and Gordini’s Mercedes. The two ran nose-to-tail for nearly half the race in a display that mixed respect and aggression in equal measure. Gordini looked poised to snatch the position in the dying moments, but a heartbreaking late slide in the final laps ruined his chances. Rollie held firm, claiming another strong top-10 finish to close his best-ever season—fourth in the Drivers’ Championship, his highest yet after 20 rounds of steady improvement.

Further up, Endru delivered one of his most mature drives to finish second for VisaRB, making sure the team ended the season with a dominant statement. With Mejg finishing third after briefly challenging for higher spots, the pair put the final seal on VisaRB’s Constructors’ Championship triumph with an unassailable 503 points—nearly 200 clear of Aston Martin.

Jordan’s P4, despite a time penalty, summed up his season in one sentence: fast, relentless, but forever wrestling with the limitations of the KICK Sauber. Even so, his P2 in the championship is a historic feat—no driver has ever finished runner-up with the grid’s slowest car before. He leaves Season 20 as one of the most respected racers on the grid, and perhaps one of the most deserving non-champions in A1881 history.

Aston Martin had both cars inside the top ten, with Selecta finishing a solid sixth and Dunce tenth. For Dunce, that result locked in yet another career milestone: his third time finishing third overall in the Drivers’ standings. No one else in A1881 history has ever managed that consistency across different seasons. Selecta, meanwhile, ends the year tenth in the points, showing once again that quiet persistence often pays off.

Rian’s Haas brought home a tidy P5, capping off a comeback season where he showed flashes of the raw pace that once made him a podium regular. Bards and Keon followed behind in eleventh and twelfth, each enduring a long, strategy-heavy race after difficult qualifying runs. For Bards, it’s another solid year with Williams—seventh in the standings and a growing reputation as the team’s dependable finisher. Keon’s late-season form was promising too, helping Mercedes edge closer to Sauber in the final Constructors’ order.

Further back, McLaren’s Crunchypancake and Sir Ibbo once again crossed the line together in thirteenth and fourteenth, a pairing that seemed destined to share track space in every single round. Both scored steadily through the season, with Ibbo edging ahead in the championship 58 to 56—a rivalry that surely continues into Season 21.

Sadly, the race wasn’t without retirements. Javinwain’s Williams and Inginne’s Red Bull both exited early after a tangle mid-race brought out brief yellow flags.

As the checkered flag waved for the final time this season, the final standings were clear. Mejg ended the year with 327 points, claiming his fourth A1881 Drivers’ Championship title. Jordan’s 258 points secured him silver, Dunce’s 202 made him the three-time bronze finisher, while Rollie and Endru rounded out the top five. In the Constructors’, VisaRB’s domination was absolute, Aston Martin and Alpine completing the top three ahead of Sauber and Mercedes.

Justin: “Honestly, I'm feeling happy to get my first victory in the League in one of the tracks that I love,” Justin said after the race. “I felt a great pace but also felt Jordan coming up, who was the other one with a similar or better level, but despite everything that happened, I managed to stay in the lead until I reached the finish line first.”

As the teams pack up after another wild A1881 campaign, the storylines for Season 21 are already brewing, with CAS planned for thursday and Season 21 will kick without a break, on the legendary Interlagos with a %100 length race...
