JORDAN STAYS UNTOUCHABLE IN BRITAIN REVERSE MASTERCLASS

Round 5 of the A1881 Season 19 took the grid to unfamiliar ground—Silverstone in reverse layout. Navigating the flowing but tricky anti-clockwise variant under mixed conditions, Alpine’s Jordan continued his dominant form with a fourth consecutive win. Williams’ Endru finished a superb second after a strong strategic showing, while Haas’ Bards completed the podium in a breakthrough performance.

The 26-lap race started under wet conditions, forcing all drivers onto intermediates. With low grip and limited reverse-layout experience across the grid, survival was just as important as pace. Jordan, starting fourth in his Alpine, took a few laps to adapt, but once he did, he unleashed a race-winning rhythm. A crucial pass into Copse gave him the lead, and with a well-timed Safety Car neutralizing a drop-off in tire performance, he held on until the flag.

Endru, in the Williams, with his calm and consistent drive earned him a second consecutive podium, further solidifying his climb in the standings. Meanwhile, Bards shone in the Haas, maintaining position through the changeable grip levels and pressure from faster cars to earn a well-deserved third place with some help coming from the penalties of other drivers— giving him his first A1881 career podium...

Rian had been running just behind the podium battle in the second Williams when chaos struck. Crunchypancake crashed in the Haas on lap 23, and as the Safety Car was deployed, Rian collided with the stationary car while trying to avoid the incident. After SC exit in last laps, Rian had been locked in a fierce battle with Alpine’s Rollie, who defended vigorously and effectively denied Rian the chance at a podium. The defensive effort proved significant in the WCC context, with Alpine and Williams now locked in a razor-thin title fight.

AA_Mejg, who started from pole in the Aston Martin, had recovered from a tricky mid-race to be right on Jordan’s tail after the SC. But on the final lap, he lost control through Copse and spun, costing himself a likely podium. He limped home in tenth, a frustrating result that allowed Jordan to extend his championship lead even further.

Red Bull enjoyed a solid points haul with Javinwain finishing fifth and Selecta sixth within a tenth of a second, both drivers executing measured, incident-free races. Aston Martin’s Dunce crossed the line seventh, again showing consistent form.

Ferrari's TarkanGino brought home eighth, while Rollie in the second Alpine recovered from thirteenth on the grid to finish ninth after that critical battle with Rian, contributing vital points to Alpine’s Constructors’ challenge. Mejg’s misstep meant that despite his late pace, Aston Martin had to settle for limited gains.

McLaren’s TSCRacing took eleventh after a quiet but clean race, got himself into Q3, skipped pits in last SC but was unlucky with cold tyres at race restart. Gordini, subbing in for NaeDangerDavid in the second Ferrari, finished twelfth and contributed to Ferrari’s increasingly solid midfield campaign. Cajoco, racing for KICK Sauber, ended up thirteenth, followed by Sir_Ibbo in the VisaRB.

Crunchypancake and Bhavish both failed to see the flag.

With five rounds completed, Jordan’s tally now stands at 189 points, opening a commanding 50-point gap over his nearest challenger Rian. Mejg sits third on 130, with Endru and Javinwain not far behind. The Constructors’ standings have never been tighter, with Williams leading on 253 points—just four ahead of Alpine on 249. Aston Martin remains in striking distance with 192. Jordan's post-race interview follows:

Jordan: “Well the race was certainly eventful, high intensity and a lot of fun once I got the hang of the reverse layout. I made a very nice move into Copse, and was perhaps fortunate with a SC when my tires started fading slightly, and held on despite pressure. Regarding the title, I certainly hope so. I'm leading by 50 points now but will probably lose that lead in the coming races. I'll certainly do the best I can, and I can't say I haven't done the best with the opportunities I've gotten so far, so I hope to make the rest of my chances count!”

Thanks once again to Ironghost for his fantastic stream coverage—always adding color to the chaos—and we’ll see you next time as the season heats up even further.
