JORDAN WINS THRILLING AUSTRIA GP AS WET-DRY CHAOS UNFOLDS, STRETCHES TITLE LEAD

Round 3 of A1881 Season 19 delivered another strategic rollercoaster as the grid tackled a dry-wet-dry Austria GP under unpredictable Spielberg skies. Jordan secured his second consecutive victory for Alpine, narrowly holding off Rian’s Williams after a dramatic late-race scrap. Aston Martin’s AA_Mejg completed the podium once again, keeping his title hopes alive heading into the mid-season...

The race started dry, but the forecasted rain hit within the opening stint, forcing the field onto inters. Jordan maintained control through the transition and built a strong gap over Rian, who was locked in a tight battle with Mejg for much of the early stages. Just as Jordan looked set to cruise to another dominant win, two bizarre in-game “illegal overtake” calls during blue flag periods wiped away his 6-second lead, setting the stage for a tense showdown.

“The race was good, felt I had good control over the race after the transition to the wet for the first half of the race,” Jordan said. “But after I got weird game bugs where two overtakes I did under blue flags were ‘illegal’ because they went slowly enough to create yellow flags when letting me past. That lost me my 6s advantage over Rian and led to a very exciting finish, and GGs to Rian – it was one hell of a battle. Very nice win.”

Rian again showed championship-worthy pace in the Williams, climbing from P3 to P2 and keeping pressure on Jordan all race long. Though he couldn’t quite make the pass, his consistency has been a hallmark of the new F1 25 era. Mejg, who qualified second in the Aston Martin, kept close throughout but couldn’t capitalize on the late-race shuffle. Still, the defending champion has now taken three podiums in three races.

Bhavish brought his Mercedes home in fourth and NaeDangerDavid reminded the grid why he’s still a threat by storming from the back of the grid to fifth in his Ferrari after serving a qualifying ban. Javinwain continued his excellent start to the season in the Red Bull with a solid P6, while Cajoco—reserving for TSCRacing—earned valuable points in McLaren in seventh.

Aston Martin’s Dunce followed in eighth, ahead of Quartiux who delivered again for Mercedes. Endru completed the top ten while also setting the fastest lap, fighting through the pack for Williams in a gritty drive. Alpine’s Rollie had a race-long duel with Sauber returnee Keon, despite having very good pace a late track limits penalty Keon handed the advantage back to Rollie at the flag and settled for P12. Rollie made stupid strategic decisions to cost him an extra pit, combined with lack of concentration, and had to settle for P11.

Further down the order, TarkanGino had a quiet outing in the second Ferrari, with Kast1908 and TSCRacing trailing behind for McLaren. Crunchypancake and Inginne brought their Haas and VisaRB entries home respectively, with Sir_Ibbo just ahead of them. Selecta’s Red Bull struggled to come alive in the wet transitions and could not recover. Bards19, who had started sixth in Haas, suffered an early exit and was the race’s sole DNF.

With Jordan’s win, he now leads the standings on 108 points, 14 ahead of Mejg and 27 ahead of Rian. The battle behind them is heating up too: Javinwain and Endru round out the top five, while Bhavish, DangerDavid, and Rollie are all within touching distance.

In the Constructors’ Championship, Alpine pulls clear on 150 points, with Williams (134) and Aston Martin (130) hot on their heels. Red Bull sits fourth with 81, followed by Mercedes and Ferrari in a closely contested midfield.

Austria also saw Keon’s return as a full-time driver in Sauber, bringing promise despite the heartbreak of a lost position at the end. Cajoco’s debut reserve appearance continued to build his stock, delivering more points for McLaren in TSCRacing’s absence.

Thanks once again to Ironghost for his brilliant stream coverage—and it was great to hear his voice back at full strength. Jordan and Mejg’s interviews can be found at the end of the broadcast for those who missed them. Round 4 will take us to Silverstone, where the classic British venue is sure to bring more drama in this already electric season.
