AA_MEJG HOLDS CROWN AS ENDRU WINS SEASON FINALE AT IMOLA!

Season 18 came to an unforgettable close at Imola, as Endru took victory for Alpine in a tactical masterclass, with teammate AA_Mejg finishing second and clinching his third consecutive Drivers’ Championship title. VisaRB’s Jordan rounded out the podium in third, recovering from a costly drive-through penalty but ultimately falling short in the title fight.

Alpine’s dominant 1-2 capped off a spectacular campaign for the French outfit, who had already secured the Constructors’ Championship one round earlier. In one of the most iconic moments of the season, Mejg, the only driver not to receive any track limits penalties across 100% race distance, slowed on the final lap to allow Endru—who had racked up 12 seconds of penalties—to cross the line first. It was a sportsmanlike gesture to commemorate the team’s strength and unity throughout the season.

“Had a decent qualifying to start P3, good start to keep position and then VSC came on and when it finished there was a beautiful Drive Through penalty next to Jordan’s name,” said Endru after the win. “After that, me and Mejg swapped every lap up to lap 63 while he got no penalties and I got all of them. But on the last lap Mejg let me through to take the win, so this is more our win. I want to thank and congratulate Mejg for this season and congratulations to everyone that was involved in it.”

Mejg’s second-place finish was more than enough to secure the championship, concluding a season that saw him masterfully fend off challengers despite being repeatedly handed less competitive cars under the CAS balancing system.

“What a run it's been on F1 24. I've enjoyed the racing in A1881 a lot! I honestly don't dislike F1 24 (I only did in the beginning). It's not great, but I don't think it's awful either,” reflected Mejg. “Anyway, I'm very happy that I didn't have to retire from F1 league racing last night 😅 Thank you for providing such a great league with amazing people! 🙏”

Mejg becomes only the second driver in A1881 history to win three titles in a row—following Rothnz’s legendary run in Seasons 6 to 8 on the F1 22 game—and is now second on the all-time titles list behind Rothnz the GOAT's five...

Behind the front three, Haas’s NaeDangerDavid capped off a strong late-season surge with an impressive fourth-place finish, jumping up to 7th in the final standings, while at the same time keeping Haas above Williams, becoming the one man army in last race, as he promised. Ferrari’s Javinwain continued his standout form by taking fifth, firmly establishing himself as a rising star after securing his first career podium last round in Mexico. Williams’ Rothnz followed closely in sixth, ending his season on a solid note.

Dunce, also in Ferrari machinery, finished seventh after a scrappy race that closed out his P3 finish in the championship, ahead of Endru and Rollie. KICK Sauber’s Rian ended his season with eighth, completing a consistent campaign. VisaRB’s Gordini recovered from a P20 start to take ninth, showing resilience throughout the field.

Aston Martin’s Rollie, who had been a top contender for the podium midway through the season, ended the race in tenth ahead of his teammate Tvoje_mamkacz in eleventh, after Tvoje led him the way to possibly help him in championship. This didnt change anything for Rollie as he ends the season in P5, while securing a strong but close second place in the Constructors’ standings overall.

Dan in the second KICK Sauber crossed the line twelfth, while Quartiux finished thirteenth in the McLaren after early contact ruined his race rhythm. Selecta, in a rare off-day for Mercedes, came fourteenth, with Bhavish in the Williams taking fifteenth.

TSCRacing, reserving for Sir_Ibbo in the McLaren, ended sixteenth but showed reasonable pace and control across the race—offering a promising audition for a full-time seat next season. Crunchypancake brought his Red Bull home in seventeenth. Slowfiveohh in the second Mercedes, along with Inginne (Red Bull) and Keon (Haas), were classified as DNFs after separate incidents, none of which impacted the championship outcome.

Alpine’s campaign was nothing short of dominant, finishing the season with 536 points—nearly 200 clear of second-place Aston Martin. VisaRB and Ferrari ended in a tight battle for third and fourth respectively, while Haas and Williams completed the midfield war within a whisper of each other.

This race also marked the final chapter of the F1 24 era for A1881, a game that brought controversy, chaos, but also some of the most memorable battles in league history. Fittingly, Imola delivered a spectacle, as we now turn the page.

Thanks to all drivers for delivering an unforgettable championship. Stay tuned for updates on Season 19, which will be played on the new F1 25 game. The next season kicks off on June 15 with the Canadian Grand Prix, once again aligned with the real-world F1 calendar.
