JORDAN TAKES SECOND WIN OF THE SEASON IN THRILLING BAHRAIN GP AS ROLLIE STORMS TO PODIUM FROM P16
Despite starting on pole and leading the race dominantly in his VisaRB, Jordan didn’t have it easy. A late safety car bunched up the field with just two laps to go, turning what seemed like a calm cruise into a nerve-wracking sprint to the line. Still, Jordan held his ground and secured a hard-fought win.
“Well I just felt one with the car today and was really able to extract pace from the fresh tires, when the tires faded I was not much quicker than the chasing group tbh. It would’ve been nice with a statement win, but safety cars got in the way of that. The championship is not in my hands so I’ll just win as many races as possible and see where I end up,” he said after the race.
AA_Mejg, who started fourth in the Alpine, maintained his trademark consistency and kept his lead in the Drivers' standings, now sitting at 171 points. Rollie, dubbed “Driver of the Day” by many, delivered a standout performance in his Aston Martin. After being eliminated from Q1 by a margin of just 0.001 seconds to rothNz, he turned it around spectacularly in the race—his late overtake on Mamoodev’s Red Bull on the final straight proving decisive for the final podium spot.
Mamoodev, meanwhile, continued his impressive early form in his second race in the league, keeping calm under pressure and showing great pace all weekend. Endru made it two Alpines in the top five, and the French outfit now leads the Constructors' table with 270 points, edging out Aston Martin by 47.
Haas had another double points finish thanks to NaeDangerDavid in sixth and Keon in tenth, extending their momentum in the midfield. Ferrari’s Dunce couldn’t break into the podium for the second race in a row, settling for seventh this time around, while his teammate Javinwain ended in 11th.
McLaren’s Quartiux had a quiet but solid race in eighth, while his teammate Sir_Ibbo brought the car home in 17th after starting last. Bhavish and rothNz finished 12th and 13th respectively for Williams, both staying in the fight for the top half of the standings.
Selecta, starting in sixth for Mercedes, fell down the order and finished 14th, while his teammate TarkanGino suffered a DNF after a mid-race incident. Red Bull had a bittersweet day: while Mamoodev impressed in fourth, Crunchypancake finished 15th and couldn’t break into the points-heavy positions.
TSCRacing, Jordan’s teammate at VisaRB, crossed the line in 16th on his debut—helping the team strengthen their grip on fourth in the Constructors’ standings. Meanwhile, Slowfiveohh retired from the race in his KICK Sauber, along with teammate Rian, who also didn’t make it to the chequered flag.
As we hit the halfway point of the season, some fascinating stats begin to emerge: AA_Mejg is the only driver to have finished on the podium in every round so far. Rollie’s third-place finish marked his second podium in three races, while Jordan’s return to form with back-to-back wins puts him in a three-way tie for third in the standings with Rollie and Tvoje_mamkacz.
Season 18 continues next Sunday with Round 6 at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix—a 100% distance race once again aligned with the real F1 calendar. Don’t miss the action, as always, commentated live by the legendary Ironghost—who also celebrated his birthday with the race! Happy birthday, Ghost!
