ROTHNZ THE CHAMPION SECURES HIS FIRST WIN OF SEASON IN HUNGARY GP!
Rothnz has finally secured his first win this season, ahead of his championship leader teammate Endru… Tvoje finally reached his first career podium in Mercedes…
Endru was on pole after the wet qualifying sessions and he
easily pulled away, having almost a second over the duo of Dunce and Rothnz at
first five laps. Dunce in his reserve ride with McLaren could only defend for
around 10 laps to the champion Rothnz. Endru was keeping a safe distance
leading the race ahead of his teammate but he suffered a spin after his pit.
Two safety cars back to back gave Rothnz the lead, with Endru getting on his
tail and staying there until the finish line. Endru seemed to not force his
teammate too much, for gifting him his first win, Lando Norris style. Rothnz
was aware of and thankful to his teammate after the win:
Rothnz: This win is
all on Endru who has been such a great teammate since the very beginning of the
season.
I tried to swap
positions with him in the end because i think he deserves it more and most
important is that he secure P1 in WDC, if i end up P2 or P4 isn’t that
important.
Endru has carried the
team completely when i’ve been messing around with Q bans or being unable to
race, so all i wish for is to see him getting that win in the Championship.
The race for me had
its up and downs. The car felt good. Maybe it was a liiiiittle to peaky for me
and i span once (but it didnt cause any damage), and the SC made me sweat a
little with Tvoje in my gearbox with Meds and me on Hards, but I manage to keep
him away even though he had very impressive pace.
Last 20 laps i had
Endru within 1sec and i gave him the position with 1 lap to go, but he fooled
me on finish line and stopped his car right infront of the line which made me
win and made me do this damn interview once more.... (Joke..😂)
Thanks everyone for
the race. Nice battles Tvoje and Dunce, and also great awareness from the
RedBulls.
Good job all, always
happy to race with you!
Tvoje deserves a seperate paragraph after his first career
podium in A1881, with Mercedes. He has been one of the long time members of
A1881 and always showed great consistency and attitude both on and off track,
paired with steady and significant improvement. This podium of his has been
signaling itself for a long time, and it seems it won’t take very long until he
reaches a medal or gets a race win, to carve his name into A1881 Hall of Fame.
This podium also placed him firmly P3 in the championship, as we have only
three races left in season.
Bhavish finished 4th in McLaren. Rollie in his Aston had a
consistent pace throughout the race, could possibly climb only one position
more with zero time penalties if he wasn’t delayed by Inginne during VSC, but
the podium was never an option given the pace of the podium trio. Dunce in
McLaren had a podium pace at first stint, but seemed to lack consistency and
settled for P6. Skid Solo had his debut in A1881 reserving for Dan in Mercedes
and brought important team points by finishing seventh. Selecta had very
similar pace to Rollie in his Haas, but their battles were interrupted by
Selecta’s usual connection issues and he had to settle for P8 eventually. Patrick
Myler was another driver to have his reserving debut, and got a strong result
with Alpine, reaching P9, ahead of his teammate Keon who struggled for pace
throughout the race. The two RedBulls showed great awareness generally in this
tough 70 laps race, and finished P11 and P12, with Inginne leading the
last driver alive on track, Sir Ibbo… Tbran retired while 6 laps remaining, but
he was classified in end results.
Naedangerdavid, Justin and Varea were all eggplanted,
despite all of them having good enough pace to be in Top 5 at least.
We are heading to legendary Spa next Sunday, for the last
%100 length race of Season 14 in A1881!
