RIANC PULLS AN IMOLA GRAND SLAM IN THE OPENER TO LEAD HAAS DOUBLE!

Rianc seemed dedicated to grab that crown back and put in a sensational race to get the win in season opener. Naedangerdavid completed Haas double in his full time debut. Rothnz followed them in Williams...

Rianc started the race with a comfortable pole and saved himself from Haggisnt’s DRS in a few laps. Haggisnt was able to stay right behind DRS distance in his Alphatauri in first stint, but last stint didnt do good for him and ended his race with an awkward DSQ after hitting Rothnz. Rianc kept the lead upon starting at pole and led every lap, in addition to setting the fastest lap to complete his grand slam. He gave us another one of his classic interviews:

Rianc: Yea quali was great the car felt great and I was able to put in a good enough lap on my first lap of Q3 for pole so can’t complain. The race got off to a good start and I was able to break the drs to Haggis behind, but he stuck right behind me just outside the drs for the whole first stint till the safety car came out. I got a great safety car restart at got myself back up to P1 straight away and thankfully it seemed the hards weren’t great for Haggis. From there on it was just about keeping a 3 second gap to the car behind as I picked up a penalty but unfortunately for me a safety car came out on lap 27 which closed the field back up. Fortunately for me the Mercedes (Tvoje) stayed out on very old tyres and got inbetween me and my teammate who had no penalty. I got a great restart and cleared the 3 second gap to my teammate pretty quickly and from there it was just about not getting another penalty and bringing the car home…

Naedangerdavid had also solid pace even not as alien as Rianc, and could have a shot on the win if Tvoje didn’t get between himself and Rianc at last SC exit. With this result he gave Haas its first double in A1881 and showed the favourites for WCC title this season.

Rothnz in Williams also was in good shape and reached a comfortable podium. His incident with Valward caused Valward damage and a spin and his apologies didn’t seem to help the situation…

Rollie followed podium with his Alfa Romeo with a steady pace and could even get a podium if he wasn’t slowed down by the last lap spin of Valward while he was trying a heroic on Keon… Yet he’ll take this as a good result anyway. He was followed by Tbran in Alpine. The two McLarens were classified as P6 and 7 with Keon leading. Keon was actually ahead of Rollie on track but was classified 6th due to his time penalty. Selecta surely expected more from this race considering he was on podium last time here, again in McLaren. Dan finished P8 despite showing good pace in his Alpine, but he was just bitter for not being able to overtake Rollie after a so-not-right attack. After this everything went upside down for him and he got the final hit from Bhavish's Ferrari. Gordini wildcarded for Saul Goatman in Williams and brought good points with P9 despite serving his quali ban. P10 was Burtay in Alfa Romeo, once more staying way behind his teammate after a few unlucky moments to be used as an excuse…

Bhavish in Ferrari was able to push Rollie outside of Q3 and had good one lap pace, but lacked consistency and cost himself and Dan some good points with a few clumsy errors. Valward finished behind him at P12 with his Mercedes, becoming victim of Rothnz’ hitting from behind and apparently of an icon on his screen, despite not a single person seemed to lag on his pov. Magnelman finished P13 with Ferrari, after an incident into the chicane with Gordini towards the end. Tvoje tried something extraordinary by staying on track while everyone pitted for softs during last SC, and it didn’t work a lot except helping Rian to extend the lead and he finished P14 with his Mercedes as a result. Sir Ibbo in Redbull came 15th and he was not this time the last driver alive on track, finishing ahead of Kast who didn’t seem to be in very good terms with his new Aston Martin.

Butcher lied to grid and DNF’ed with his AlphaTauri at Lap 11 instead of Lap 9. Cmrcnn survived long but not long enough to be classified and was eggplanted in his first race with Redbull...

We are heading to Qatar GP next week, picked by the champion Haggisnt who will try to bounce back into title fight on his favourite track!
