RIANC CONTINUES HIS HAAS DOMINANCE IN FRANCE GP!
Rialien put in another world class performance in Haas to bring him his third consecutive win this season. Valward followed him close in Mercedes to give him his best result in A1881. AdamLindberg brought Williams third, wildcarding for The Tapeguy...
Rianc started on pole as expected and saved himself from DRS
to drive comfortably throughout the first stint. After pits Valward seemed
to cope better with traffic and in second stint they were at each others’ DRS
distance. Rianc played confidently and saved enough ERS to run a city, even
lifting off throttle on straight for not overtaking Valward at some point. He
showed the reason for picking this boring track with another magnificient performance and
gave another one of his already classic interviews:
Rianc: Qualifying
being a short qualifying was a bit of a curveball and not having much knowledge
of the track I didn’t make the line for my final run, but fortunately my second
lap was good enough for pole.
I started the race on
softs and got off to a good start. I got away well and got out of drs, starting
on the softs was a risky strategy as the tyre wear on the Haas is pretty bad
but the hards for me weren’t a good race tyre around France so I had to try and
save a lot of tyres in the first stint, at the same time as trying to keep Valward
out of drs. Pushing to keep Valward out of drs hurt my tyres which led me to
change my strategy a little bit. I had to pit on to the mediums a few laps
earlier than I wanted which led to me having to overtake majority of the pack
and losing time and battery, I decided to let Valward go infront and I sat
behind saving drs and a bit of tyres until the last few laps. I noticed Valward’s
red light flash with around 3-4 laps to go and I decided to go for the move and
break drs as I had a full battery but I wasn’t able to, so I let Valward back
through so I could build a little more battery and go for attack on the last
lap which thankfully worked out…
This made the alien of the grid sitting comfortably on top
of the table winning all races this season. Valward was the guy to push him in
the absence of Rothnz and at a bad day for Haggisnt. This performance brought him
his first P2 in A1881 and brought him up in standings into the title fight.
Behind him was AdamLindberg wildcarding for Rothnz the tapeguy in Williams and
despite having a bit of a lonely race he extracted the most out of his Willie
to make Rothnz great again…
Bhavish in Ferrari deserves a seperate paragraph, showing
incredible improvement in his relatively new no-assist challange and put in a
remarkable pace combined with sufficient consistency. This made him reach his
best result in A1881 and placed him within the midfield fight in standings, to be able to possibly pick a track for next season.
Champion Haggisnt finished P5 in Alphatauri, after a
reportedly rough day in office and was at least able to limit damage. He was
followed by Selecta in McLaren who applied good sandbagging measures on Rollie
throughout the weekday practices. Tbran in Alpine climbed up to P7 overcoming
his quali ban with a strong performance. Keon in McLaren finished behind him, enjoying the
battle with the DRS pack he was involved throughout the race. Tvoje finished P9
in Mercedes and his contribution made Mercedes the best team of the week,
climbing up to P3 in WCC. Rollie paid the price of half-losing the car while
behind the DRS pack in front, and had to settle for P10 in Alfa Romeo
eventually. Dan in Alpine divided the Alfa Romeos, having a good bit of
battling with Burtay and a good bit of avoiding Magnelman in different
occasions, to be able to finish P11 and earn important points where his main
rival Ibbo had retired… Burtay was once more the losing Alfa Romeo, promising
to be the winning one next week on Singapore he picked himself… Magnelman
finished P13 in Ferrari miles away from his teammate and ahead of the last
driver alive on track, Kast in Aston Martin…
Inginne and Sir Ibbo both retired in pits to enjoy their
eggplant dish in garage. We are heading to Singapore GP, a complete opposite track where the skill gaps between drivers will probably be much more
striking to see in A1881 next week,…
